We are having a Charlie Brown Christmas this year...DH so wanted a live tree. And I didn't go with him to pick it out...this is why he's not allowed to play unsupervised. :)
She's our Diva Tree. A Cypress (so the branches don't go out straight, but stand upright - a little tricky for ornament hanging), 10' tall (2' taller than we'd agreed upon). We didn't have enough lights, ornaments, or garland (so we now have 3 different garlands on her). She was problematic getting her into the house and set up, she drinks ALL the time, and she refuses to hold our angel up straight. ~sighs~ Initially the angel was nearly horizontal after a day, so now our poor angel has an old curtain rod up her skirt to keep her somewhat vertical.
The best thing about this tree is that she's given me the excuse to buy lots of new ornaments, but she still (IMO) looks a bit empty. Anyway, here she is:

Well, it was either find the humor in the situation or beat him with the Diva. j/k
He grew up having live trees, and this is the first year (in 9 years of being together) that we've gotten one. I think we'll have to alternate years though, because I love me some fake tree. They're reliable, less messy, sturdy enough for our heavier ornaments *and* the topper...and the non-drinking is a bonus. :)

cat - I have one of these lady ornaments too, only mine has a plaid cape and a dog (she reminded me of me so I had to get her!) I will take a shot of mine and post it later this week.
It sounds so cute. I have another ornament like this too. My other one is wearing a gold and green dress and has long brown hair.

this is kinda a crappy picture b/c i lopped off the top of the tree... the photo was intended for my mom b/c she made our tree skirt for us. it matches the stockings she made for us last year
we live in a tiny apartment currently so we have a tiny tree- we bought it purposefully so that we could use it in another room when we have a normal sized house!
My Christmas tree is famous! Well, it was on the news for 3 seconds anyway. My dad, bro, and I cut down our tree the day after Thanksgiving and there was a camera man there.
Here it is before my mom got ahold of it and put a bunch more ornaments on, and before there were any presents.
I can't wait till I have my own place and get to decide a theme of my own.
