hi! sorry i haven't been on much- work has been crazy, we had a death in the family and i've been pre-planning the wedding!
that being said- i've been meeting with some folks and everyone wants to know what i want my "overall feeling" for the day to be.
and i.don't.know!!!
sometimes i like the whimsical look, sometimes the fun look (with a topsy turvey alice in wonderland type cake), sometimes a more asian inspired look with cherry blossoms... etc.
how and when did you find your "look" or "feeling" for the day? i'm struggling with what to tell everyone!!!
and i guess to give you guys some ideas, my colors are chocolate brown and blossom pink with touches of gold/champagne. my wedding dress is at www.melissasweet.com style AVA and my bridesmaids are at www.billlevkoff.com style number 301. my reception is being held at a top ranked golf course in Ohio. HELP!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure I ever found my "feeling". I thought of it as my day and I think that I am a pretty eclectic person so one "feeling" or word would not describe what I wanted. When people asked me, I would usually just avoid the question or say I want it to be "me". I know this doesn't help much and I know everyone is going to ask but I don't think you should have to have an answer.
well, at least with the photographers, they knew i didn't like sappy love songs, and there weren't very many "criers" at the wedding. i didn't shed a tear, so i guess they kind of knew that i wasn't going for all the mushy romantic stuff. it's just not me. so the bellissima girls got that pretty quickly. so maybe just give them a rundown of what you like and don't like, what you want and what you don't want.
we didn't want to write our own vows, and we kind of just wanted to have a good fun time wedding... i also think the choice of music helps with that "feeling". i had a swing-y band play... no sappy-ness there !

i think the bellissima girls will get it too... but it seems like everyone wants to know- the florist, the cake person, the reception people and on and on and on.
however, i went to dinner with my friend tonight (who is also engaged and getting married 2 weeks after me!) and she kept saying how my plans sounded so "classy" and "sophisticated and elegant" but without being over the top.
so, i guess that is what i am! i'll just go with that and hope for the best and that it all ties together somehow!
