The purpose of the eBay category on the forum was to provide a venue for stylethread community members to sell clothing to one another under the protection of eBay.
In no way is the eBay category intended to support a business, or be the only purpose for a stylethread member to post.
As of November 20, 2006, there will only be one post allowed to call attention to an eBay auction. Violators will be warned. Repeat violators will be banned.

Just because i'm confused-members are only allowed to have one post per auction (or per chunk of auctions?) That makes sense, but i'm rarely in this section, so i dont know...

"one post allowed to call attention to an eBay auction" "an eBay auction" refers to one auction.
This means only one post for an eBay auction vs. multiple posts, i.e. calling attention to an auction that has already been called attention to in a post or additional calls to attention for an eBay listing that is expiring but has already been mentioned in a post. If the eBay auction has been included in one post, don't include it in another.
If a member chooses to group multiple eBay auctions in one post, the eBay auctions, whether as a group or individually cannot receive additional mentions in subsequent posts.
Please let me know if this needs further clarification. If you are in fear of breaking this rule, please PM me.

can i say amen? i've been really sick of casey99whatever's posts! Me too. There was a few times I wanted to say something but I bit my tongue. Thanks D!
I want to add one more thing. There really is no need to post about an auction more than once. If someone is interested, they will bookmark it in "my eBay." If the auction ends without bids, and the person who bookmarked it is still interested, they'll check to see if you relisted it. Multiple mentions of the auction will not increase desire to bid. Therefore, this new rule should not have any impact on anyone's eBay auction selling or buying success.

I think what was more annoying than her over promoting her auctions was the fact that was all she did on the forum, she never posted anywhere else. I like buying from ST members cause we "know" them.

she did post outside of ebay a couple of times, but those posts were few and far between. I agree that the purpose of this category is to buy from ST members we "know" - those who are an active part of the community.
