I have an item listed as PayPal account required and that I only accept PayPal. I just received a note asking if I will take a check from a person with 101 100% feedback. Has anyone done this? If so, do you wait for the check to clear, and how many days? Do you think I should say yes?

if you don't mind waiting, checks are nice because you don't have to pay a paypal fee on the item. when i accept them, i wait for the check to clear before i mail out the item.
D- I was looking around on the Ebay help boards abut this too...I noticed many sellers wait ten days to clear a personal check before shipping.
On a related note: I got an e-check as a payment and had to wait 4 days for it to complete thru PP. The surprised buyer didn't know why it was an echeck but turns out that when the bank does an automatic debit or credit card upgrade, and then if it's not changed in the PP profile they take it out of the account the sloooow way. I had no idea myself but it makes sense, new card, new profile even though it's the same bank account.
Definitely wait to ship until the payment is clear as a bell if you decide to accept it.
hmm maybe as a compromise you could ask them to send a money order instead of a personal check. I think most auctions I've run across has been 10-14 business days for the check to clear which is a really long time for you and the buyer to wait.
