Under what circumstances do you actually leave negative feedback, or even just neutral? I sold a pair of pants to someone last week and she paid me two days after my auction terms say I need to be paid. After she won them, I sent her an invoice which also said I needed to be paid in three days or the pants would be re-listed. After three days she still hadn't paid, so on Saturday I sent her a message and said I'd give her an extra day since it was the weekend and maybe she didn't have a computer. She didn't reply to this. I waited until today and wrote to her again, asking if she was still buying them. She finally sent me an instant payment, but had no message apologizing for being late or non-communicative.
I don't think it was a great experience, but I've never left negative or neutral feedback and am afraid of getting bad feedback myself if I make her mad. Maybe I shouldn't leave any feedback at all?
For something like this, I leave no feedback. They don't deserve positive, but if you leave them anything but that, chances are you would get a retalitory negative.
I agree. I bought a pair of BR capri pants on e-bay and when I got them they were missing the button. I e-mailed three times over two weeks and got no response. I left negative feedback and got a retaliatory negative for my efforts even though I had paid within an hour. It was my only negative ever and I now regret having bothered.
A definite flaw with ebay is the feedback system. I had a buyer who hasn't paid in 5 weeks and I left a negative feedback with Do not sell to her. Has not paid me in four weeks.
and she left me this little gem of a negative feedback this week. Actually, it is kind of funny but annoying.
I have written you PSYCHOLUNATIC! go to anger management. Buyer tineytona( 23)

Thanks, everyone. I won't leave her any kind of feedback. Mikacat, that feedback you received is insane! I think most people who see that would know the person who left it was a freak.
Maybe you could wait until she has already left you feeback, or until the last day so it's less likely she'll see it in time?
I've only left negative feedback once, when I ordered a DVD. It was a bootleg copy, and when I contacted the seller s/he wanted ME to pay return shipping to get my money back. Of course, s/he promptly left me negative feedback. I've also left neutral feedback once, because while the thing I bought came quickly, I was never contacted by the seller. I could look past that because it's not a requirement, but it also came shipped in a box that squished it. I think I left it after I had already recieved positive feedback from the seller, though. I didn't plan it that way, that's just how it happened.
