My parents are getting married!

Well.... not really... it's their 25th anniversary and since they didn't have an actual wedding when they got married, my mom is extremely excited about wearing a wedding dress for the 1st time ever!

She's volunteered me as her "wedding planner", and I am very excited as well!

So any ideas of what kind of decor I should think about, since it's a 25th wedding anniversary?

ETA: Did I mention she decided to do something big and we only have 8 weeks to plan?

Since the 25th is the silver anniversary I think you should use silver decorations/accents.

Awwwwwwwwww!  So cute!

My parents did a similar thing.  They eloped in 1979 and for their 20th wedding anniversary, they renewed their vows.  My mom didn't wear a wedding dress, but she wore a pretty pale green dress and it was cool because my brothers and I all got to be in the "wedding party."  It was one of the coolest experiences to do that and to see my parents renew their vows after all those years.  You'll have a great time.

As far as decorations go, I love FP's idea with the silver.  I think you ought to probe your mom to see what it is she wants.  It seems to me that there are two schools of thought:  one that says, "Hell, since I never had a 'real' wedding, let's do it up!" and the other that thinks that being "of a certain age" means that things should be more subdued.  Once you get a feel for which camp your mom is in, you'll probably be able to adjust a few things here and there with variations on a color theme and come up with something very cool for your parents.
