Emergency Kit Checklist

Since we are about a week out, I'm going to start hitting the little detail-ish things out of the way, one of those being putting together the emergency kit.  And by 'emergency', I of course mean someone breaking a nail or a hem coming undone or a groomsmen forgetting his socks .

Can anyone think of anything that might be good to have around that's not already on this list?  All of my regular getting ready stuff is going on a separate list, btw.

Okay, this may sound crazy but I read somewhere if you put a little vaseline on your front teeth it makes smiling easier, your lips don't get dry and stick to your teeth?? Am I losing my mind? I think it was a model who suggested it.

A hairdryer- At my friend's wedding a girl spilled water all down her dress and we used this to dry her dress.

A streamer- I have used this at every wedding that I have been to including mine, if you know someone that has a really powerful one ask them to bring it. I have a great one that is so easy to transport because it folds up.

A iron- depending on what fabric your bridesmaid dresses are, mine needed some touch ups and the steamer wasn't providing enough umph, also to help the guys out with their pants because they forget about details like that.

Have a blast I can't wait to hear the review!

Good grief, you are organized!!!

I can't think of anything to add really.  However, if you're looking to make things lighter, you have a few things that essentially cover the same purpose: gum, mints, mouthwash, as well as double-sided tape and safety pins.

But, I wouldn't want to be the one that was responsible for telling you not to bring something that you'll end up needing, so you might just want to pack it all anyway.

The things that we have also used the most, or missed which already had listed where mints and tampons. But I would also add moleskin, the kind that you buy in the foot stuff aisle. This will work well if your shoes are slipping or someone else. Also chalk supposedly can help if you get a mark on your dress.

Thank you for looking it over!

Chic - the venue already provides a hair dryer and a steamer (yay!), and I heard that thing about chalk too (it's on the list ).  Moleskin is a fabulous idea - I already have some I can throw in!

NC - I can probably nix the mouthwash, you're right.  But the safety pins and double sided tape do serve their own purposes to some extent - big safety pins can be used to fix a broken bustle, and the double sided tape is for quick hem fixes and possibly some last-minute assembly of table tents .

I can't honestly think of a reason I'd need a lighter or matches .... ?  Nobody in the wedding party smokes (and I wouldn't be brokenhearted if they did and had forgotten their lighter, anyway).  So that leaves us with, um, bathroom odor control???

are your bridesmaids wearing pantyhose? I feel like they probably aren't, because it's the middle of the summer, but if they are you might want to bring an extra pair or two in case of runs

Or some clear nail polish so they wont continue to run!

Also you could add

-You might not be the one who will be taking the pictures but take a roll or two of film just in case

-Shoes to change into if you plan on doing a lot of dancing

-I dont know how this usually works out but you could take a box or two and leave them in your car so that afterwards you could put the presents in there and it would be easier to carry them

I guess I thought mostly about stuff you could take to the reception. Are you having one? If so then hopefully this helps!

But most importantly add a beautiful and restful bride! And dont stress out just have some fun!!

I think you're forgetting the most important thing - champagne!! Can't forget to have a few bottles of that on hand while you're getting ready.

Oh and if you have some of those deoderant stain remover things, that might be helpful too. I forgot what they're called but the pink sponge things?

One thing we needed at my BFFs wedding was tweezers. One of her earrings broke and we used tweezers to fix it.

Good luck!

Gah! I had a dream last night that included an "emergency list" for weddings. Craziness! Now I'm having obsessive dreams about your wedding!!
