UM...does she have a good reason?

I haven't been since I was 15, but I had no idea the whole thunderstorm every 15 minutes made for good bachelorette parties.

Yeah, I'm thinking condom necklaces and a penis cake might not go over well there.

Is she the type that would be against a crazy or for lack of a better way of terming it a normal bachelorette party???  Maybe she just wants a nice dinner before all the nights activities begin??  Did she pick it or someone else??

She's not the type to be offended by a normal bachelorette party. She's not conservative or religious or anything. Her sister is the one planning it.

But get this, the dinner is the ENTIRE thing. In her email, the sister said "We might walk around the wharf after dinner, but we'll see if people are up for that or not." So, it sounds like dinner's pretty much the whole night. Odd.

hmm I don't know then Kitty.  maybe she or her sister has had a recently bad experience with a bachelorette party like I did?  I swore to both of my friends they would die if they ever threw me one after that last one I went to.  It was horrible.  Maybe that is her case.

I wouldn't even want to go. Can you straight up ask the bride her thoughts? If I wanted a bachelorette party I'd be disappointed.

I'm curious too Aurora - out with it!

My sister planned mine and she followed everything that I had asked for and things I was concerned about. Some of my friends were surprised by the things she planned, but it was all stuff that we had discussed together. So maybe your friend didn't want to have a crazy night. I personally hate things like penis cakes and condom necklaces so I would be upset if my friends brought me one, now I do like a good party though. So you might just want to ask her, because if she does want more of a party then you can help plan something after the dinner.

I've been there too and that is an odd place for a bachelorette party. Maybe there are going to be some family members that don't approve of regular bachelorette party stuff? My family is pretty religious so I always have a thing for my friends and a seperate one for my family. I would talk to your friend though- maybe she doesn't know what her sister is planning?

That is pretty strange.  Maybe you can suggest going out to a few bars afterwards to those who are up for more of a night out?

Oh basically we did a beach weekend thing at a subpar beach with no real bars, restaurants, or anything to do.  We had of course the one "difficult" bridesmaid who was the drama queen and the entire weekend tried her best to take away all attention we gave the bride and put it on herself and her wedding next year.  Basically it was an expensive weekend, the restaurant they picked out of the phone book and it was really bad and terribly expensive, and the bar was a hell hole.

But what I hated the most was that the bride is like a double zero in size and has brain tumors and seisures every so often usually resulting in brain surgery every couple of years and instead of watching out for her and her tiny size they kept giving her drinks and shots and at one point she had had 5 shots in half an hour and could not stand.  The general attitude was that this is what your bachelorette party is suppose to be like and she'll be ok once she goes to bed.  Well the poor girl spent the whole night crying, throwing up, and passing out while everyone else slept and then went to the beach the next morning leaving her in the same state so I gave up my beach weekend to baby sit her because if she would have had a seisure she would have been dead if I had gone to the beach.  My other friend there was also disgusted with the situation and said the other 2 she had gone to were horrible too so we vowed to either go to the outlet mall in destin or san marcos together when we get married and forget this other stuff.  Oh and the poor girl's bridesmaids want to take her out and get her trashed the night before her wedding on bourbon.  I just about let all my rage out on them but held back.

Anyways that is the gist of my story and I'm sure yall won't be the same way.  It was just too many clashing personalities at that weekend and we all were clashing while in the sorority together so it wasn't anything we didn't try to prepare for before we went.

When is it, Kitty? Just wondering how long we'll have to wait to hear the story..

Aurora - that is awful - way different than what i was thinking. to be honest I'm kind of relieved because I 'used' to be the wild child so I've thrown a few bachelorette parties myself (as in have been in charge of the planning) & I was hoping you wouldn't tell a story that sounded like one of the parties I hosted.

It was Saturday night. So, here's the story...

I found out that Loretta, my friend and the Bachelorette, didn't want to have the party at the Rain Forest Cafe. I guess her sister is sort of a goody-goody and she's also really bossy, aggressive, etc. Loretta is one of those non-confrontational types that just kinda goes with the flow and I guess she let her sister talk her into having it at the RF Cafe despite the fact that she really wanted to go clubbing.

Anyway, the whole thing was just RIDICULOUS! It was really embarassing at first because her sister made Loretta wear this stupid hat and sash and stuff, so she totally stood out and I heard some people saying, "Is that a bachelorette party!?" and so I felt kind of embarassed and bad for her.....

Enter the alcohol.

So, I decided to just drink...and drink. That was a good strategy because it kind of made me forget that I was in this lame Chuck-e-cheese type place and I made the best of it. I went on a picture taking frenzy. I got this gem of a photo of Loretta infront of a gorilla. Yes, look closely, that's a gorilla!

I also managed to find this cake on the menu that looked like a huge penis. It had brownie wedges stacked up and then this huge scoop of ice cream on top. IT even had this little sparkly thing on top that looked like shooting cum. It was awesome:

So, I tried to make the best of it knowing that it was against my friends wishes. My other friend and I vowed to plan a girls night sometime before her wedding as kind of a pseudo bachelorette to make up for this one.

Well I'm glad you made the best of it and had a little fun with it.  I would definetly plan a clubbing night minus the sister to make up for this fiasco.
