I'm looking for some opinions - normally, when I clean out my closet, I resell all my stuff at a nearby consignment shop. They price the clothes, and when it sells, I get half of the money. I took a bunch of things in a month ago and made $200 (meaning everything sold for $400) - but theoretically, if I sold it on eBay I could have gotten the full $400.
So, from you experienced eBayers, is selling there worth the hassle?? If you had a choice, would you go the easy route where you can just drop off your stuff and get less money?
FWIW, most of the things I get rid of are from Anthro, Banana, BCBG.

to me, it depends on how much free time you have. i just sold a huge load of clothes on ebay and made alot of money, but also decided it was the last time i'm going to do it. it was SUCH A HASSLE! people are getting more difficult and its almost not worth it. if you are getting decent selling prices at the consignment store i'd prob stick w that unless you have alot of time to dedicate to photographing, listing, measuring, emailing crazy people and post office trips!
If you have some free time I would list on ebay, I usually list a few things at a time, that way I'm not overwhelmed with emails, etc. I usually check what similar items are going for before I decide whether its worth listing. But it is very time consuming to take measurements, take good pics and include important details in the listing.
I have found Ebay to be completely time consuming. Between taking good photos, measurements, listing, answering emails, and running to the post office I feel so hasselled by the whole darn thing. Plus, now that this whole Paypal being unsecure and habitually freezing peoples accounts and making them lose money with no compensation, I won't use Paypal anymore, making Ebay even more of a hassell.
I think I'm gonna try consignment. My time is worth more than all that hassel I get from Ebay so I think I'll just take whatever moola they will give me and cut my losses!
I only buy from ebay, but if you do the consignment route, try to pick a nicer resale store that will know the true worth of your clothes. Some in my area could care less what brand they are and pay crap, but others are run by more fashion knowledgable people and know more boutique-y brands than most other stores.

It depends how much money you are getting from each piece. It's surprising what people are willing to pay for used designer labels. If you are a busy person though, ebay is not a good choice.
