The cottages that we rented are stocked with every snack you can imagine and cold drinks too, so we don't need to fill up the boxes with snack items. (These are included in the room price, so no extra charges)

So all I have in the gable boxes right now are koozies with the SC flag that we had custom made with the name of the place where we are getting married, no dates or no names. We wanted people to be able to use them later.

Also there will be a welcome letter that my invitation designer will be making and I will include a timeline for bridal party?

What else can I fill these with??

I do like the idea of putting maybe a hangover kit for the bridal party, but both of families don't really drink, so for them??

TIA!

Depending on how far ahead you're filling these and how long your guests will be staying ...

Newspaper/Magazines

Local restaurant/entertainment book

Crossword puzzles

Slippers

Advil/wetwipes/tums/bandaids/sunscreen/gum

Coffee mugs

Disposable camera

Giftcard to nearby restaurant

Pretty notecards/pen

That's all I can think of for now .

Hmm, I don't know how much you want to spend, but some more lowcountry SC-related stuff that would be cute to put in:

  • beach music mix cd

  • Shag DVD

  • Any Pat Conroy books

  • Benne seed wafers or pralines

  • A whole pineapple

Hmm, that's all I can think of right now, I'll let you know if I think of anything else. . .

I second the local travel/activities guide.

Everyone traveled to our wedding and no one had been to the area before.  We put a book (more like a magazine) in each person's bag.  People loved them, because it had a map and they actually did some of the activities.

This will be for over 80 people so they cost does need to be small. We already will be putting a large welcome note that will give all sorts of info about the area, as in restaurants, how to get to the beach, golf course numbers, all sorts of other fun activities our location will have available to them.

Also we have ordered custom koozies to put in there.

So just something small is all we need that isn't a food item, water, or trinket that they will throw away. I can't think of anything that doesn't fall into those categories, so if anyone does please let me know. I can only spend $100 total. TIA!!!

What about personalized bottles of sunscreen? I looked online and almost all sellers require you to buy at least 400 pieces. Maybe you could find cheap bottles at the dollar store or something similar and put your own labels on them.

Another idea is playing cards.

I don't know if you could find this for where you're getting married, but maybe you can. I have been to two weddings where the out of town box had candles with the location in the scent's name-- in one case, a Votivo candle in Sea Island Grapefruit and in the other case, a Yankee candle in Saratoga scent. I bet you could find a SC/Southern themed candle.
