You're so cool, FP! I didn't think there was a way, but leave it to you and your awesome style to prove me wrong! Can't wait to see a pic. in TS. And why haven't you been in there lately, I miss your outfits.
Thanks, glad you approve I'll definately post a pic of it. Oh, and I haven't been posting in TS this week because I've pretty much been living in sweats and tanks. I'm using this time to get some stuff done around the house, painting, organizing, major cleaning, etc. because #1 I know I won't be able to do a lot of that when we get pregnant again and #2 my mom is coming to stay with me for a week this month and you know how it is when your mom comes, you want everything to be perfect (well, at least I do). I do have some outfits on my camera from this last weekend, maybe I'll post those soon.
I am old enough to have done it once, and IMO that saying holds true - I won't go back to it.
Yep. This is for all the kids out there who were babies the first time around...or not even born. However, I am cool with the continuing flats trend. Comfort is what I am all about these days, so fortunately, I feel like I am the perfect age for this trend at 30. In my 20's, heels were everything...there were no flats except on your flip flops at the pool, and my body could handle the strain then, plus I didn't have to reach down and scoop up a toddler back then either!

Won't / can't do it. I may do some drapey tops while I'm still a little plump, but I generally do that anyway so I figure it won't look too 80s. But since i'm nearly 34, I rocked the leggings as a teen & can't see myself going down that road again. Gosh I feel old.

OMG - I had a circle thing that you used to "tie" up your shirt - do you remember that? Gosh we were such victims of fashion!

Who do you have to probe around here to get a Chardonnay? - Roger the Alien from American Dad
I am happy it's back now that I am "a bit" older, b/c, having tried it once already, I pretty much know what works (and what doesn't!) with me!
I like the longer tops, I have a short bust compared to the legs, so they really help (that, and they hide my fat a**); like the look of skinny jeans tucked inside the boots, but not skinny jeans with flats. And the larger tops make me look like a soda can, to quote my sis. And I am ashamed to admit that I liked the black/hot pink combo back then/
Big hair is never gonna work on me! And I really hope the blush contouring thing that was huge back then (see Alexis Carrington from Dynasty) is dead and buried.
I really think anyone could make it work, it only has to be taken with a grain of salt and adapted for what works on one's body.
I'm 18 and never wore anything 80s ish ever, but now I'm actually looking for a pair of black leggings (calf-length approximately) to wear with mini skirts. I never ever wear minis b/c of my thighs, but one of my roommates has really muscular thighs and it looks adorable on her so I'm giving it a shot.
But that's the only 80s thing I'm doing. Skinny jeans don't work for me, again cuz of the thighs.
I'm 26 and I'm not a huge fan of the 80's trend. There are elements that I like and will incorporate into a modern style, but overall, I find it frightening. I do like the leggings/skirt/dress look. Skinny jeans are okay, but I'm not really sure if I'm sold on them.
If Hammer pants, Hypercolor shirts or the poufy bangs look ever come back in style, though, I think I'll have to just say no.
I was too young to really be involved in 80's fashion (will be 24 at the end of the month) and never thought or hoped that some of those things would make a come back.
Yesterday I got out a couple of photo albums from late '80's and early '90's to have a look. All I can say is:
NO-O-O-O-O-O!
I forgot that I once owned and wore black skinny jeans with zippers at the hem. I was much skinnier and younger, but even then I didn't have the body to look good in those.
Then there were the big tops with giant shoulder pads that swamped my body.
The skirts were fine, but those skinny jeans were so unflattering! I'm not going there again.
