Ok this is an odd question but I'm starting to wonder. I had a bridal consultation today. She booked it with me and asked me if I would be able to actually come to her wedding site. I said yes, but she would have to hire me to do that. (This is me freelancing, so it has nothing to do with the counter).
Anyways, today I did her makeup and she asked me again, and I told her the same thing. I'm also doing her portrait. I started wondering though that she never asked me how much it would cost. So it's safe to say that she would not think that this is a free service, right? I'm just assuming that she doesn't really care how much it costs. I guess the next time she contacts me about the portrait date, I'll let her know how I expect to be paid, deposit at time of portrait, remaining balance wedding day, that way it will be clarified.
So I guess what I'm getting at is, none of you would expect a service like that to be free right? A makeup artist come from a makeup counter to your wedding site. Personally I would want to know the cost, but I guess it's not an issue.

I would never expect it to be free, I would also expect to pay a traveling fee. When I used to work at BCBG, MAC was across the way and they would usually charge about $100 to do bridal make-up, but it also depended on where the wedding was, if it was pretty far then it might be more.
You might want to contact her and tell her that you hadn't yet talked out your fee and you wanted to make sure she was comfortable, because you never know!
Which brand do you work for, too bad you aren't in SC because I can't find a make-up artist for my wedding....
