Lots of white this year... Any favorites? Any bad choices?

I'm surprised by how many women wore their hair down.

I absolutely loved Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture.I think she nailed the Old Hollywood glamor while still keeping it fresh and modern.

I also loved Lucy Liu.  I'm usually not one for pattern on the red carpet, but I think she showed that it can be WOW if done right.

I didn't like Leah Dunham's whole look.  I mean, I get that she's young and wants to show the world that she don't care what you think of her.  But couldn't she choose a mildly attractive dress while also making a statement? She looked like she was a bridesmaid who wandered in from a local banquet hall.

I am procrastinating at the moment so here's my indepth analysis.
My list of terribles:

634.JessicaChastain.mh.011313.jpg634.SiennaMiller.mh.011313.jpg

Ill fitting and awkward chest on Jessica Chastain.  Also the hair was severe.

Weird bodice, just an odd look overall for Sienna Miller.  Looks like wallpaper.

634.HalleBerry.mh.011313.jpg634.ConnieBritton.mh.011313.jpg

Halle Berry seems to be a one-note stunner; she wears one or two sillouettes in different colors for about 20 years now.  The high-slit, tummy-baring, one shoulder number is no longer sexy and screams trying too hard, IMO.

I forget her name, but someone needs to tell the lady on the right that when you have a straight-up-and-down figure, a gown like this is not flattering. She needs a belt or a different cut and I've seen her do this silouette A LOT.

Alyssa Milano is pregnant, no?
Eva Longoria.  Another one trying way too hard.  Why is she even invited to these things any more?
634.rancic.ls.11313_copy.jpg634.RosarioDawson2.ms.011313.jpg
Guiliana Rancic looked awful.  The neck thing, the bare shoulders.  She looks like a madame from a brothel in the 1920s.
Rosario Dawson took a longer version of what would otherwise be a work dress and got it a size too tight...

Here's my list of amazings:

634.AnneHathaway.mh.011313.jpg634.adams.ls.11313.jpg

Anne Hathaway looked stunning.  This dress looks like it was made to fit every inch of her.  I am loving the pixie/soft make up as well.  Maybe could have used some color in the jewelry.

Amy Adams - there was a ton of "nude" being done but she did it the best.

634.2richie.ls.11313_copy.jpg634.JessicaAlba.mh.011313.jpg

Nicole Ritche was my favorite of the night.  Something about the exquisite fabric/simple sillouette seems effortless but dramatic at the same time.  I could have done without the matchy matchy makeup.

Jessica Alba is looking great these days!  Wow she hasn't aged a bit.  I thought the color made her stand out and the shape of the dress was very pretty and fit wonderfully.

Kaley Cuoco is the wild card for me.  I love the dress, it's shape, the sheerness on top and how small her waist looks but the hair and make up are a disaster.

LOL agree entirely.  I think she's the victim of stylists who have NO idea what to put on her body.  The open shoulder just makes her appear wider.  The color/fabric/cut is also very aging.  My thoughts were very "mother of the bride"

Lucy Liu won the night.

The girl in the lime green sparkly strapless dress (who is that? Amber Riley?) looks like someone photoshopped hair on her. It's like she's a conehead under that hair or something.

Leah Dunham! Stop it! It is painful to see someone who looks like they put more effort into looking unattractive than it would have taken to pick something flattering. That's the most annoying part of the "I don't care what you think" vibe to me - that I think in most cases it is actually more energy than something basic and flattering.

Seemed like a lot of people did the "nude lining with laceish stuff on top" which seemed hit or miss. I wasn't a huge fan of Nicole Richie's look - I think the dress would have been much better if the sleeves or the hemline was shorter, and that makeup is awful.

Kerri Washington's dress was the worst of this genre, IMO. The fit is really unflattering and I don't like that the lining ends so abruptly.

I agree with XtinaStyles about Kaley Cuoco - cute dress but WHAT is going on with her head?

J. Lo's version was my favorite!

ETA: Amy P! How did I forget to mention her? That is my favorite "lady in a tuxedo" red carpet outfit of all time.
