STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

I ws checking out an on-line article about The Limited's new holiday collection when the writer praised the concept of wearing a sweater under a sleeveless dress.  I've seen this now a few places.  I don't think that this look would work IRL.  You would need a paper thin sweater not to make a dress look bulky.  But maybe I'm wrong.  The whole concept of having mixed material sleeves on outfits is very big right now.  What does everyone else think?  Any one considering trying it?
