I just bought a black leather moto jacket from the Rack. I love it! But now I'm not sure about shoes....right now I'm fine wearing ballet flats, but in a month or so it'll be way too cold for that. I have both brown and grey flat leather boots that I have pretty much worn almost every day the past two winters, but will a black leather moto jacket plus knee-high leather boots be too....leathery? Or am I overthinking it?
I already kind of assume I can't carry my teal pleather purse with my jacket, because jacket + boots + purse =

I see lots of women wearing black motos with black ankle boots. I don't think that looks too leathery. As for knee-high boots, I think it's still okay but might be pushing it if the boots have a rough-n-tumble look to them or motorcycle boot hardware. I also see black motos with sneakers - like Converse, Vans, Vision Street Wear, etc.
Using a different colored boot will give you more leeway.
Let's see your flat boots. I think It depends on the style. I wore my leather moto jacket with my Doc Martens this weekend and I felt like such a punk/poser.
I wear both ankle boots and knee boots with my leather jacket. But I agree, it really depends on the style of your boots. If you're going for a sleek sort of chic, then the boots have to reflect that.
I also have a teal leather purse (cross body) and I wear it with the jacket and boots. I think the key there is to NOT match the bag to the shoes and jacket. All black = too much. If the bag is simple, I promise you, you won't look like Mabel.

My grey boots are these:
My brown boots are similar to these, but a bit lighter in color:
My jacket is very similar to this, but with a snap collar and zipper pockets instead of snap pockets:

I don't think most people would think jacket + boots + bag is too much, especially in a season when leather anything is so popular. I do think that you'd want to mix in other textures and colors so it doesn't overwhelm.
I like the ankle boots/booties/shoe boots/shooties/whatever in the last two photos Boots posted.
Thanks guys! I do have some grey suede booties that I think will work with it (posted in the shopping thread, they turned out grey not brown like the picture), but they're heels so I know I have to have a few flat options, I'm not a heels-every-day girl! It did occur to me that I also have reddish flat ankle boots that I love. I always think of them as my "scooter boots" (because over the Summer I'd only wear them if I was riding) so somehow it didn't even occur to me that I could, you know, wear them regular now.
