V and I recently changed our wedding date from June 17 to Sept 30 because money is getting rather tight right now. Anyway, my reception hall wants to charge me $200 for changing the date, which I agreed to, but I want to speak to the catering manager about changing the price per head. I want to pay at least $10 less per head, since I won't be having my wedding in a prime month anymore.
I would either call or email and ask what the price difference will be June vs. Sept. Word it like you know there's a discount, you just want to know exactly how much. Prices are negotiable, so if you're firm you could probably talk them down another couple bucks per head from the Sept. price they give you.
If you feel like you're getting screwed over after you talk to them, either call yourself and pretend like you're someone new just checking into the location (for Sept) and was curious about their prices, or have a friend call for you.

This may be different everywhere.. but at our location (in PA).. June and Sept were the most expensive months. Then May, July, August and October were in the next tier. She might not to wrong there.

I was just going to agree with this. September weddings are really popular around here.
