SO- my Dad is a volvo-driving, lands-end loving retired CPA (and former hard core soccer player) who loooves a deal. He went out and bought himself horrible white sneakers he saw on sale for $5 that make him look like a 90 year old tourist (my dad is 67, but looks 45-50- truly)
He lives in chinos + colored tees now- does not, and will never own jeans- so they have to be fairly conservative/classic in coloring/styling- without being too aging. Will mostly be used for lawn work, car care, grocery store runs + bicycling.
My male friends suggested New balances for comfort- any additional recs or colorway suggestions? Looking to purchase for his birthday in mid-october
Perhaps he can use the white ones for yard work and car care (non-public, dirty activities) and have a more attractive pair for biking and errands (public, relatively clean activities.) New Balance on zappos:

Thanks D that is a great thought- I think he would like the last pair you posted!
Unfortunately- I cant go for anything jack purcell-ish in style b/c my youngest brother has ~10 pairs so my dad will feel silly in them.

I really like the first pair too, but if you think your dad would wear the last pair D posted, get those. As the daughter of a style-stubborn man, getting him to wear something new is half the battle.
