I have two pairs of Sundown jeans from Lucky Brand. They're probably like five years old. One is looking quite faded; the other is still not super faded.
Here are pics of Sundowns other people have uploaded to Photobucket.
I kind of agree with her, because of the wash that's faded to the knees and around the butt. I mean, a wash like that is something that's not current enough to be something I'd buy new right now, but I don't think it's "outdated" enough to stop wearing the ones you already own, especially in casual situations. I just wore some similar ones yesterday, actually.

Yeah, I wouldn't use the term "outdated." I'm not a fan of thigh and butt fading on new jeans (personally I think they make the jeans look cheap.) But more important to me than the wash, is how do they fit? Are they sagging or just perfectly broken in? l Do they still make you feel like a million bucks? If so, wear them. There are too many people walking around with ill fitting jeans for you to give up wearing a perfectly fitted pair just because the wash has faded.
And if you wanted to update the wash, you could try dyeing a pair.
What a weird thing to say to someone, even a sister.
I have a few pairs of bootcut jeans. I don't wear them as often as newer straighter pairs, which I tend to reach for more. But the bootcut jeans look better with certain heels, so I do still wear them.
A picture might be helpful. I promise I'll be honest.
The jeans are fine, it depends in what you wear with them, also if they fit right, especially the hips, rise and length - they'll look fine. Maybe you can take pics with you wearing them, if you feel comfortable...
Well, thanks for the feedback. Regardless of the style, the fit is not there right now. I've gained some weight, and no matter what the cut and the wash look like, they don't look their best on me (at least at this time).
@Suasoria - you're right. It sounds like a weird thing for a sister to say. That's how she rolls, I guess. Maybe she saw how I had to practically use a shoe horn to get the damn things on! :)
I think Lucky jeans in general can look outdated. That medium/light rinse and the bootleg-ish style is outdated IMO. A dark-wash, well-fitting jean will never be outdated, but I'm guessing if you have to ask, they probably are.
