I love this anthropologie bicycle dress, but I am 41 and I have begun to question whether certain things may be too young for me now. I have been told that I look much younger, but I am still unsure about it being appropriate. What do you think? If it is okay, my plan is to knock it off using a bicycle fabric and pattern (fabric and pattern pictured below the dress)

I'm 39 and struggling with the age appropriateness of some items myself. I honestly have to tell you that the dress reads a little young to me, but not ridiculously so. I also don't think that 41 is ancient by any means. If you love the pattern, wear it. Keep the length closer to the knees and mature it by wearing simple shoes and accessories.
For some reason, I also think that the pattern would also make a pretty and fun full circle skirt.
IMO the combo of cut and fabric is twee for someone our age. I think there are probably sundress patterns where that fabric would be fun and unexpected, and I think you could wear that cut in a different fabric and look great, like gray with pinstripes, chambray, or abstract/Asian print. Together it's a "nyet comrade" from me. (The Anthro version looks tea length to me which is usually a really young look. I'd prefer above the knee.)
Also in some cases when you look younger, it's good to err on the side of sophisticated, and avoid things that might veer too far the other way. I guess my feeling is 'when in doubt - no.'
FWIW, I totally picture Carrie from Sex and the City rocking that dress with a shorter hemline,a moto jacket, killer heels and a hot bag. Of course, not all her outfits translate well to real life (at least not mine).
