Gap T-Shirt PSA: Thumbs Surprisingly Up
Permalink Closed

Hi, guys. I just wanted to share my good find. Every now and then I pop into Gap in hopes that they have something other than beige, tan, ecru, eggshell colors. And this last week, they finally did! The store is like walking into a Easter egg, lots of brights and pretty pastels.

I ended up picking up this t-shirt (in both the orange and the hot pink) and so far, it's been love love love. The material is thin (imagine J.Crew's tissue fabric) but IMO, it makes it drape better as well as look a bit more "classy" than just a cotton t-shirt. I'm a medium/large in most shirts at the Gap and this was no different, a large was just right. I probably could have done a medium but was worried about shrinkage in the laundary. So far, I've worn the shirts both unwashed straight from the store and after being washed and the fit seems to still be about the same. The shirt is a nice, longer length so no wierd riding up issues. There are several colors in the striped version and a ton in the plain version. And bonus, it's relatively cheap at just $23.

Those are cute! I really like the pink and gray one.

You never know with the GAP. I used t love them, but in the last few years not on have they gotten incredibly boring and ill fitting (IMO of course) but the quality just isn't there. Maybe the new management is making a positive difference?

That was so my problem with them, boring and all their tops fit like a square. Not attractive. This shirts are not that at all, if I didn't have a truck-load of J.Crew stuff coming from their final sale, I would go back and buy a bunch of these shirts.

On a other note, their pants still fit my wide-ass and super hips like a glove, both jeans and the khakis. My only complaint with their pants is that they keep getting longer and longer in their length. I'm 5'7" but yet, buy their ankle length because even with heels, the regular length would need hemmed. And no, I'm not shrinking.

In general, this spring season stuff they have out now is a welcome change. Oh, and the perfect khakis which are my go-to work pant come in a pretty mauve color!

thanks for sharing!! Always on the look-out for a quality t-shirt. And of course when you find the perfect one, you have to buy it in multiples :)

"Ill fitting" is right. That includes two pairs of jeans in the exact same style and size fitting completely differently. Men's items too.
