Anyone have any tips for securing their jewelry while traveling? I am not concerned about theft issues, because I know how to avoid them, and the stuff I'm bringing with me is not horribly valuable.
I'm looking for ideas that will keep me from losing, mostly, tiny earrings. This has happened at least 2-3 times. The last time (in August), I lost one member of my Favorite Pair of Earrings. I'm pretty sure it's in some housekeeper's vacuum cleaner or something, as I think I lost it at one of the hotels. Any pouches? boxes? tips? I'd greatly appreciate!
PS - I've been carrying earrings in my makeup/toiletries bag.
I use a small leather zip pouch except for when I am wearing studs because they still swim in the pouch. Other times I use a tiny mason jar (the one that looks like 1/2 of a half-pint jar, which would make it a quarter pint, but that's not what they call it - maybe the good people at Mason think they are for candles?) because I can quickly see that I have everything.
You know the little plastic bags that spare buttons and thread come in, when you buy new clothes? I always save them for jewelry storage. So not glamorous, but totally works.

Me too! Also the small sample baggies you get from Sephora are perfect to hold individual items. I like that theya re ziplock. Then I put the baggies a cloth drawstring pouch so that they are all together in my suitcase (I would guess that a larger zip lock baggie would be perfect for this too.)
I have a travel jewelry bag I bought at Banana years and years ago (that doesn't help much I know - but it is perfect as it even has a spot to stick your stud earrings). Kate Spade makes some cute pouches that I've used for this too. As a matter of fact I bought a few for xmas at the KS outlet and they were less than $15 each. HTH.
