does anyone know if they are going to restock at all? I would like that deep v sweater in the blue-ish color i think, but i didn't feel like going today. I don't really care if i missed out, but it would be nice to know if this was just a one day thing or not.
I went back to the Lex store on my way home and they had put a sign in the window that said "SOLD OUT!" It was like nice pre-made window lettering thing so they obviously anticipated this. Anyway there was nothing left there and I overheard some employees saying that a truck is coming in tonight but that's it for NYC. They were also unsure of what stores were getting restocked. One girl thought it was for both the 5th ave and Lex stores and another thought it was just for one of the stores.

I'm hoping I get to see a couple morsels when I go to NYC next week..............probably wishful thinking.
i'm going to try and check back on monday. maybe they'll be some returns, but i figure a smart sales associate would snatch up that stuff for him/herself. i tried 3 different stores and pretty much everything was gone. while i understand the idea of limited availability this was just ridiculous. like seriously, people shouldn't have to fight over clothes. the really sad thing is i doubt a lot of the good stuff will turn up on ebay. i think it's just gone.
Damn, it's all over eBay already. I wanted this dress but I don't think it would work for me (I'm not tall and it's even making the tall/skinny model look a bit stumpy):
The big grey blouson sweater is going for about $170. WHERE is the raspberry dress? No one spotted it today, I understand? I can't believe that if it was available, it wouldn't have shown up on eBay yet. There's $ to be made here, I am sure the opportunists (not saying that's a bad thing) would have been on it...?
Now why would fashion editors, who can most likely by the "real thing" at cost or even borrow it from the fashion closet at work, want H&M Stella...hmmmmm...Ebay is a friend to everyone
I got to the flagship store on Fifth Ave as they were about to open the doors. They had only restocked a small amount (mostly the rhinestone cami and satin-tie sweaters). The SAs looked afraid as girls were climbing over each other to grab whatever they could. The floor was cleared in less than 1 minute.
I actually stood in line at 8:00 in the morning at the Michicagan ave. store. At first, i felt really embarrassed and stupid for being there so early. After I got my jeans and sweater, I'm glad I did wait in line. It was craziness in there. A lady left her kid in the middle of the store in the stroller!! Someone knocked down a mannequin. All the mannequins were stripped naked! When i was ready to leave, there was barely anything left.

Congrats on your new stuff!! Which sweater? Zip up one? What colors does it come in?
I had a suspicion that people were reselling those items on ebay since you all said that they were just grabbing whatever they could, emptying racks. I don't live near an H&M, but this sure makes me mad! Isn't that illegal to buy up everything and resell it for more money? That is so wrong to buy up like that and jack the prices up on ebay! I don't have a problem with finding a great deal on an item and sell it on ebay for a huge profit (I have done this, but there wasn't a huge line of people who actually wanted it!) Anyways, I hope that lady who bought $900 in "gifts" gets stuck with all that crap and teach her a lesson. After the time it takes to list it, ebay listing fees, ebay final value fees, paypal fees, she may just be in the red unless people are willing to pay at least one and a half times the price.
it seems crazy that they didn't make more of this stuff, since there's obviously a HUGE demand.
but re: the ethics of re-selling on ebay, the beauty of the free market is that you can get ANYTHING if you are willing to pay enough. it's what makes our world go round, so nothing wrong with that (in my opinion anyway).
I just found the grey zip up sweater on ebay......Gah!!
Holy crap, $250! How much did this retail for? It's crazy what things are selling for, but that's capitalism for you I guess. If people will pay for it, then why not?
I remember I went to NY like a week or so after the Karl Lagerfeld collection came out and there was still a big selection (I didn't really care for any of it though). I wonder why the Stella collection has much more of a buzz?

That sucks about letting fashion editors in early - really sucks.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the limited supplies (esp. of certain pieces - oh raspberry dress!) was on purpose. The PR Stella and H&M are getting out of this is priceless.
eBay will hopefully chill in a few days/weeks. Everyone is in a frenzy right now. I almost did a BIN on a piece I wouldn't even necessarily have paid retail on last night just because I was getting all caught up in the OMG I HAVE TO HAVE IT thing.
