We just completed another rescue of nine beagles from an animal test lab and I've ended up fostering one because his original foster didn't work out. Meet unnamed boy beagle! Here he is studying. (He's trying to bone up, hahaha.)
The press coverage of this rescue was off the chain. Here are some links.
Longer version of that, with me in it at about 56 seconds in, trying to keep boy beagle, on the leash, away from the girl beagles (none of them are fixed yet).
SQUEEEE!! I saw this on Facebook. Love! I so want to adopt all of them. I also saw that Freedom is having his birthday party this Saturday. I wish we were still out in Cali so I could go to it!
8 days later, he's still here. We are meeting a possible adopter on Saturday. His name for now is Malcolm. It makes me sad that we probably can't keep him. I think he would be happier in a home with another dog, one who can teach him more than we can, like how to play, how to ask for what he wants, where the good potty places are. He's so lovable and calm, but the cat is largely intolerant and she's our first priority. She's 15, not too many good years left, and we want her life to be as stress-free as possible.
We're actually getting three more little boy beagles in today. A pilot with Pilots-n-Paws volunteered to fly them to LA, but the crates wouldn't fit in her small plane so she decided to drive them here herself! So cool.
