Nice, Pollyjean! Gotta love it when good things fall in place
I was searching the net last night for leopard flats for GD (they are tough to find!) and stumbled on Melissa Plastic Dreams shoes. She creates shoes that are made of a stretchy recycled plastic and partners with people like designers and architects to create shoes. Apparently they are super comfortable and people rave about them. Seem to be more popular in Europe than N. America. Since zappos has free shipping and returns, and the shoes were on sale, I took the plunge on some Vivienne Westwood ones...
I see wearing them with jeans. I'm also thinking they would be great for the doggie easter egg hunt I'm hosting for easter, since I'll be walking in grass. Yes, my feet will probably sweat in them - might wear some footies. The food bed is fabric though, so it's not like I'm going to be walking in slippery plastic.
I love how they look on (see runway pics below). $99 for plastic shoes though (that's half price.) I'll let you guys know what I think!
Super cute shoes! I agree that $99 is a lot for plastic shoes, but they will be fun to try. Do report back on them!
And, thanks for taking a peek around the net for some leopard flats for me. I still haven't found any that I'm even contemplating. I think the universe is trying to tell me I don't need them. I'm just not sure I'm ready to heed the advice.
D- Intriguing shoes. I like the shape and style of them. I wonder if the plastic will scuff easily? Let us know how they turn out!
exsuperhero- That's a cool watch! Nice gift!
Every busy season I promise myself a gift at the end of it (using some of my extra hours pay.) This year I finally got myself a decent portable speaker system for my IPod Touch.
It's got amazing reviews and supposedly has the best bass that's offered for the size. I'm looking forward to using it a lot this summer outdoors for parties and just weekend grilling.
I also bought myself a little guilty pleasure reading just because I deserve it.
I think we are the last people on the planet with a tube tv still in the house. We watch most shows in the basement or bedroom because that's where the flat screens are. The color is going on the old tv, so I bought this one.
boots - I wondered about the scuffing myself. I tried them on this morning and they're comfortable. They're also not nearly as bright as the picture, they're more like this:
I will give a better review once I actually wear them for an extended period.

Been a long time since I have posted in the shopping forum..doesn't mean I haven't been shopping though
Here is what I've gotten this month
Thanks! The shoes are Elizabeth and James. They were originally $395 but the Outnet.com has them on sale for $198. I haven't received them yet. I'm hoping today.....
gossipgirl - hate to do this to you, but the elizabeth and james shoes you bought are on sale on 6PM for $107 (5 colors and most sizes available.) Is it too late to return the ones you bought? you could swap a new pair and return them -- just an idea...
For those who were interested in getting them, this is a good deal since they were originally $385!

The pants felt just a touch snug to me. I probably wouldn't have bought it but my SO and the 6 or more ladies in line at the fitting room all said, "are you nuts" or some variation of that. I have a tendency to buy non-jean pants a bit too loose. I'm going to try it on in a day or so and then decide whether to return, have the pants let out 1/4" or keep as is and make sure I keep my weight in check.
