My friend might be getting married soon, and she has a particular style in mind that she'd like to find. I am not sure where to look because the dress isn't super traditional. My friend is looking for a tea-length, white/ivory/cream dress with a halter style bodice and an a-line skirt. The dress can be floor length (the length is secondary to the halter). Can you help me figure out the best places to look for something like this? My friend is very low-key when it comes to fashion and getting dressed up. She'll basically be eloping to Vegas. One of my big concerns with this dress style is making sure that it doesn't look like a Marilyn Monroe costume. Thanks in advance, ladies!

Have her go to BHLDN.com. It's Anthropologie's new wedding store. The website officially launches tomorrow, but a few bloggers got to preview it and I think it might be right up her alley :)
Oooh, BHLDN is all kinds of awesomeness! If I hadn't just gotten married, I'd be going there for a dress (of course, my dress did come from Anthropologie, the store that inspired BHLDN, so....). Anyway, it's very non-traditional, which sounds like what you're friend is looking for.

I see it's already been mentioned, but definitely tell her to check out BHLDN! I was one of the lucky bloggers to be invited to the preview event last week, and the dresses are gorgeous in real life! They had several tea length dresses and shorter length dresses!
Shopchicago, I actually found out about BHLDN through your blog and Cupcake & Cashmere's blogs! I just couldn't remember your ST name to give you credit :)
