So, I've had some thick black knit pants/leggings for awhile but I've never worn them out of the house. Why? Because the tops that are meant to be paired with them do not cover my ass! And I think it's been established that Tights Do Not Equal Pants.
I'm perplexed, and I was wondering what other havers-of-booty are wearing with skinny pants/leggings. Dresses are too long, and many of the longer tops that are out there are juniors sizing, which are even less forgiving. I've tried pairing long cardigans with them, but they're all right on the cusp of booty coverage and hitch up when I try to actually walk anywhere.
What is going on here?! I can't be the only one having this problem, right?

I agree with gossipgirl on the long sweater. I also find any really short dress works nicely too, and lighter ones can be worn under a long cardigan. Short sweater dresses are a good choice too.

Ideally, I'd do short dresses, especially since they're everywhere this year. But I'm so short, 'short' dresses typically come down past mid-thigh on me ... if I throw on leggings I end up looking frumpy because what little leg line I do have is lost. I think this is the biggest problem - the 'tunics' aren't quite long enough for my ass, but 'dresses' are too long and there isn't alot of in-between lengths being made.
Maybe I need to look into getting a heavier sweater? I have some longer cardis, but they just hitch up in the back with whatever top I'm wearing.

A lot of the new fall sweaters have a heavier cable knit, so that might work for you, in line with your concerns. I just picked that sweater as an example of the trend, but I've been falling in love with it all day
