This is the exact opposite of what I THOUGHT I was looking for in a dress. I never expected to look so "bridey". However I need you to ignore two things: 1) the horrendous tan lines and 2) the back fat (the woman had me so cinched up in that thing, flab appeared where I didn't know I had any!) The dress is also about 4 feet too long...I'm actually standing on a platform and the dress is STILL too long.
This is the dress on a model, except she has it on in all white. Mine is actually Diamond White/Light Gold.
I love the lacing up the back it makes it so subtly sexy. If you feel great in it and it makes you happy then you made the right decision. The dress is gorgeous!

I love it - so pretty. I am curious as to what you thought it would look like - something not "bridey" - what does that look like? Sounds funny - it cracked me up! It reminded me of the whole Miranda SITC rampage about her wedding dress - if you didn't see that, you really need too. very funny

No, I haven't seen that episode...I'll definitely look for it though. By "bridey" I mean like a typical white/off white dress. You look at it and say, "Yep, that's a wedding dress and she is a bride." I'm very non-traditional when it comes to weddings (at least I thought I was). My original plan was for a shorter, tea-length dress in a color (a light blue perhaps). Sort of like a glorified bridesmaid dress. I tend to gravitate toward unusual, unique dresses, so it was kind of a surprise to me that I ended up with a real-live wedding gown. Anyway, I'm finding that throughout this process, I usually don't end up with what I set out to get.
I understand completely. That dress is very pretty though. Have to definately decided on it? Or is the tea length non-bride dress still an option?
As for the SITC episode (Episode 88 in Season 6, called "the ick factor") To a sales girl while searching for her dress: "I said, "no white, no ivory, no nothing that says 'virgin.'" I have a child. The jig is up." -Miranda
Different situation no doubt, but you get the drift. I felt the same way & I have no child. Very funny.
