I just sewed myself a knockoff of this Kate Spade dress, but the skirt of my dress is pencil shaped and in a light blue/orange/white lighweight tweed.
I noticed that Emma Pillsbury recently wore a different colorway of the dress on Glee with a cardigan.
I have been wondering how a short sleeved orange jacket to go with the orange in dress from this pattern would look with the dress? For some reason I can't post the pic, but here is the link: http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m5859-products-10071.php?page_id=115 I just don't want to have that awful JCPenney dress suit vibe happening.

I like how Emma wore it with a cardigan. The blazer you posted has puffy sleeves and too many other cutesy details, that IMO would be overkill and take away from the already cute dress. I love how the cardigan just adds a little touch and helps showcase the pretty ruffles. It also doesn't hide the definition of the dress. I vote for cardigan! As far as what color, depends on what color you made the band. I really like that you did the skirt in a pencil shape. It sounds really pretty - thread style it!
