I really need everyone's help for this one! I am going to Nantucket this Saturday for vacation and we are going to take our engagement pictures. I need outfit suggestions. We are going to do 2 sets, one semi-dressy and one casual. My finace will be wearing a navy blazer/khaki or green j.crew pants for the downtown/marina pics and then just a polo/madras plaid pants for the beach/lighthouse pics.

Ideas for me??? I would love either a pink or white short dress for the semi dressy pics and then a polo and cute skirt for the other. I have the polo covered but I don't want to wear something that I already wear all the time. You all know my favorite colors and the I am preppy!

Both. I know you are supposed to wear solid colors and nothing too busy for pics, but I don't care!

There was the cutest outfit in the latest In style mag that would be very Nantucket-esque.  It was very simple but elegant.  Fitted white pants that are straight and not too floppy, and a 3/4 sleeve red, knitted DKNY tunic.  It is tied at the neck and is oh-so-cute! They paired it w/ a royal blue fedora-type hat, but I guess you'd want to skip that part.  It's on p. 170 if you have the copy.  It's in the section where stars go on vacation.

I was just looking at engagement pics from a girl in my town that just got married (i come from near annapolis, which is very preppy), and she was wearing an outfit like this:

baby pink cardigan, except hers was plainer- prob J. Crew, with a strand of pearls that fell under the cardigan a little


white full skirt, hers might have had gathers at the top or pleats


shoes shaped like this, but white and where the coral is, hers had a pink oval stone surrounded by rhinestones

it was a little matchy matchy, but looked cute in the photos because they were really romantic (sitting at a small cafe, walking on the pier holding hands) and the colors were nice and soft.


ETA: i just read your original post again- I wouldn't wear a polo if your fiance is wearing one as well- the pics from the neck up will look like you match, espec. in black and white- instead I would wear a simple cardigan or summer sweater.
