i can afford nine west, bcbgirls, nice shoes but not too fancy.
i'm in college so i don't need shoes for work. i'm just trying to get away from wearing tennis shoes to class everyday & i have one nice pair of black shoes to wear when i go out & that's about it.
how fun! I'm just posting example from Nine West now, but here's an idea of what my shoe wardrobe would look like- a range of heights and dressier/ more casual shoes.
pair one: a casual flat- something cuter then flips to grab when you just don't feel like it.
$59.
pair two: a neutral heel, dressier but still will go with a lot
$48
pair three: a bright closed-toe pump- cute under pants when it rains
$69
pair four: a pair of flats, to give your feet a rest from heels. not a sandal (since those were #1).
$34.50
pair five: something fun
$37.50
you might also want to throw a pair of wedges in there. I tried to slick with more basics that will last you a few seasons, style-wise.
Some mid-price brands I like: Seychelles, Bronx, Franco Sarto, Nine West, Steve Madden (some pairs are extremely uncomfortable, some are a total steal!), Kenneth Cole, Aerosoles, and check Macy's for amazing sales!
Ok, if I had to pick 5 types of shoes, I would get:
1) going out sandals that are comfy/will go with a lot of your clothes- mid heel
these both come in a bunch of colors- I have the second ones in teal (steve madden v-i-p) and recommend them HIGHLY. They are so comfy and go with so many things. They are $49.95 on the steve madden site- $65 at Zappos (which I paid because I couldn't find my size anywhere else). They also look great with jeans, not sure why I don't have any outfits with them and jeans.
2) cute flats or moccasins for walking around campus
someone had these on stylediary ($44.95, Laredoute) and I loved the way they worked them!
super cute steve madden moccasins that come in a bunch of colors $60
3) a dressier pair of flats for your nicer/more professional outfits
I think you should splurge here.
come in beige too- $100 from $195- kenneth cole. I think these would be so cute with trousers.
I also recommend trying to get marc jacobs flats on sale- you can probably find a good pair half off for around $125 (try sizing them at Saks or DSW, then look on eBay). They always go on sale for half price at the end of the season. It would be worth it to get one pair of these instead of two pairs for half that price. I have my marc jacobs silver bow flats that I bought half off for $150, and I wear them SO much. They instantly pull together an outfit.
4) a cute pair of sandals
These are all Miss Sixty, all $100 (pricey..), but I have the green ones and I ADORE them. The number of compliments I get on them is insane and they totally funkify an otherwise eh outfit. So they are worth it to me. I am contemplating the one with the pearls now.
Seychelles- $65, I like how they are understated yet unique
these or real Jack Rogers- the Steve Maddens are $30
5) really sexy slingbacks
Seychelles, both about $60, come in non-metallics as well. I hear they are both pretty comfy.
