I have a long-ish one and I love it! Its not my everyday coat, but its completely essential on the colder days. Keeps me nice and toasty, and I think mine is pretty flattering too.

i agree that they are very functional. I also think that the one you picked out is very cute and seems very flattering. I just got a long puffer in white with the fur around the hood and it is surprisingly cute, flattering, and warm! I say if you live in a warmer climate it is a good investment.

Well, I was all set to buy the $200+ jcrew one.............but when i tried it on in store, i was not "in love" with how it looked on me.

So, I ended up getting 2 hooded puffers from the gap, which I am also not in love with (NO thumb holes!! And I am generally not a Gap fan) but at $28 each on sale post new years.........I bought the navy and the black



They are  more flattering than in the photo (though i never wear them zipped), and serve my purposes nicely in terms of practicality. (Although it has warmed up here since I bought them, so i never got to wear them when it was really cold) However, I would never have paid anywhere near full price for them ($100+) $28 is just about what they are worth (they are super basic). Yay for cheap solutions!

WOW! i have that exact same mk coat (i know a few other people that do also). i live in Delaware so its a staple rather than a trend piece. the furry hood is my fav, but it also has a nice cut, I'd recommend to anyone. stay toasty!

i live in chicago and my friend just bought the jcrew one you posted first... everyone lives in long puffer coats here- as the other cold weather ladies have mentioned they are not trendy for us- they are a practicality!!

Is it waterproof?  If not I might suggest spraying it or using one of those wash-in waterproofers on it before taking it skiing.  If the weather is dry/sunny, you might not need to wear it at all once you get going a bit.  If the weather is wet/snowy/windy, the fact that it's waterproof will matter more than anything else!  Have fun!
