Christmas Parties Outfits!?

What is the right thing to wear if the invite says "casual?" This is not for a house party, but for a work related event. I have three parties to go to just this week and I have no idea what the correct dress code is. What are you ladies wearing to your holiday parties?

dark clean denim, dressy top (but no cleavage), maybe with a jacket or cardigan would be my assumption

if you want to play it really safe I would do a skirt, sweater, tights, boots/shoes just in case other ppl decide that casual means business casual.

For a casual party, I would wear dark skinny jeans, ballet flats and velvet blazer or pretty blouse or a jersey dress with knee high boots and fun necklace.

I agree.  If it was a casual party at a friend's place, I'd do dark denim or pants  and a dressy top with a fun accessory (like a sparkly ring or a clustered necklace.)  Since it's a work related event, I'd err on the side of being over dressed as opposed to under dressed.  I'd do a skirt with tights and a sweater, but still have some fun with accessories.

I'd probably wear a casual dress with tights and ankle boots. I actually ordered a dress from ModCloth that I plan to wear like this to one of my holiday parties this year. It's a versatile dress, so I'll be able to dress it up for a different, more formal event as well.

DH's holiday party is always casual, but we still attempt to look nice. he usually wears jeans and a nice button down shirt with dress shoes. i've worn wide jeans with a black velvet blazer and heels, wide jeans with a dressy sweater and heeled boots and this year i wore skinny jeans, tall dress boots, and a dressy top with a cardigan over it. i would rather be a little too dressed up than way underdressed.

^^ Agree. I don't think it's appropriate to wear jeans to a work event.
