Did any of you notice in the new Lucky the ideas of pairing a casual zip up jacket (almost track jacket like) with a skirt? I'm intrigued & think it could be fun. Happened to find this Danskin jacket on clearance at Target for $10.98. I thought it was fun with the ruffled bottom & wider ruffled sleeve.
I've seen people do this, though I haven't seen the new Lucky yet. I think it's fine to put a hoodie with a skirt, if the hoodie is form-fitting and not sweatshirt-y. Or, a trak jacket with a simple, casual skirt like a knee-length denim. But I've also seen a sloppy zip-up sweatshirt over a silk dress - stay away from that look.
I haven't seen the new lucky either, but I totally do this all the time. I think it can look really cute. I agree with splash's suggestion of getting a more form-fitting hoodie/track jacket. I think even sweatshirt material can look fun if it's the right shape and color. I love the juxtaposition of girly/dressy and casual wear too. You just have to be careful you don't look too teeny-bopper. Also, I haven't found a way to work nicer heels with this look, but I think it can look great with jeweled sandals. The top you got is really cute and a great deal!
Just to clarify if anyone looks for these at Target. I got a small so it is more fitted in the back. The arms are long so it worked for me. Might be a bit snug if I were to zip it all the way up, but that's not a look I'll do anyway.
