I am heading to Orlando to hit the outlets (call me crazy...but I need something to distract me and I think being immersed in shopping will do the trick!) Where are you guys going this year?
You are a brave woman heading out with the crowds, especially the outlet mall crowds! We're keeping Christmas very low key this year with just a couple small gifts each, so no big shopping for me. I might pick a few things up online, but the rest of the day is going to be dedicated to decorating for the holidays!

I haven't decided. I think I want to hit the "upsacale" mall to see if JCrew, Martin+Osa and some of the other stores are going to put any of their stuff on a special sale for the day (they did last year.) I like to go around 10 AM, early enough to miss the lunch crowd and late enough to miss the early AM bargain shoppers. Plus, my mom and I usually get our first gingerbread lattes of the season that day.
On the Sunday that weekend I'm taking my goddaughter and her brother downtown to see the windows and lights (Macy's and a few other stores do their windows up with stories each year.) I'm really looking forward to continuing this tradition with them.

I'm doing my usual mom + me crazy nordstrom rack followed by woodfield mall (suburban chicago) morning, this year I'm being really ambitious and taking the bf (his first trip out for thanksgiving out to my fam.) to downtown chicago shopping in the afternoon.. as much as I love shopping, I don't know how I'm going to survive the combined chaos of both!
Natalie- You're from Chicago too! Good luck with Woodfield. You're a brave woman. I can't even imagine the madness that the parking lot must be. I'm hitting Old Orchard instead and will leave Woodfield for another weekend.

Only sort of- I've been in philly for like 7 years- but chicago will always be home I think.
my fav. part of the woodfield parking lot is the fact that they hire seasonal traffic directors, that place is ridic.
Sort-of...I'll probably do some online shopping, but otherwise I'm actually going wedding dress shopping with/for my BFF. I'm always so torn - the mall can run me down on a regular day with all the annoying people around, Black Friday is a nightmare...but the sales! ahhhh!

HECK YES! I plan on getting my boyfriend a digital camera for Xmas, I'm shopping for a flat panel TV for myself, and a new fan/microwave combination for my NEW KITCHEN!! Yippee!!!
I think I might try and hit up the sales but i'm not sure where yet. My husband offered to take me to the San Marcos outlets but I'm not sure if I want to fight the crowds. I might just stay up all night and shop online instead.
I try to observe 'buy nothing day,' but last year DH was an enabler and I did a bunch of online shopping on BF. I'm like Kelly, I almost can't handle a mall on an average weekday, let alone the big day.
My mom and I usually go out, but not looking for anything specific. We are not the get up super early to fight all the crazy crowds kind of people, but we enjoy starting the holiday shopping season on that day.

No...have been to abstaining from shopping for over 2 years now...No, you can't imagine how it is...I wish you never have to...so, it's still not the time...
Three-quarters of the battle for me is the driving and parking. So, if there is ever any place for me to go that doesn't require driving and parking, then I can handle the crowds. Still am not gonna do it this year tho.
HECK NO! I won't be doing any black friday shopping. I hate the crowds and I have no patient for greedy, crazy people.
I sound like such an old fart. ;)
I'll probably do the online black friday/cyber monday thing though.
I stay as far away from the malls as possible from Black Friday through Christmas! I actually just ran to Sephora yesterday because I was running low on tinted moisturizer and didn't' want to brave the Chrsitmas crowds.
I think Cyber Monday tends to be better for clothes anyway, and I dont' need any big ticket items this year
