How To Make This Work??

Thinking of tracking down this sweater.  I love the idea of wearing it with these speckled tights which appear to have a little turquoise in them.  What do you think?? Shorts?? Skirt??
Any help would be great!

I really like the idea of tweed with the tights. The sweater's length makes me wonder if it might be too bulky for a shift. I think it's a "have to see what it look likes on" thing.

I think Shopchicago has the sweater on in her blog.

I do think that maybe a sleeker boot might be better. There's already a lot going on with the sweater and the tights.

I have this sweater in beige. I looooove it! I think it looks good over anything slim fitting. Lately I have worn mine with a tee and skinny jeans tucked into tall boots.

I like the idea of wearing it over a sleeveless shift - i think it would look great!

I agree the ruffles on the sweater and booties may be overpowering, but would look good with tights and a simpler bootie.

The boots with the sweater are too much for me - separately, yes. Also I am against light-colored tights on principle.

I think either sweater would work with a simple scoopneck blouse/top and a heathery or tweedy pencil skirt. Since the pattern on the tights is subtle you can add another texture or print if the colors/shades work. I'm thinking a tone-on-tone effect would have 'visual interest and character.' Like brown tights, brown/taupe small check skirt, cream blouse, either sweater. The shoes would be in a color similar to the tights.

I have the Plaza Cardigan in dark gray.  It looks great over skinny jeans, but it also looks really pretty with a pencil skirt.  I have those tights too and they are speckled with all different colors, so they would be cute with the sweater, and a pencil skirt.  I think the ruffly shoes are too much though.
