I bought a blazer this weekend, but the sleeves are too long. Does anyone know how much it will cost to have sleeves shortened (approximately, of course)? The thing is, it's from Kohl's, so it wasn't expensive to begin with. I just want a cheapy blazer, I don't have to wear suits to work every day or anything so it's not really something I need to invest in. I didn't have a whole lot of luck at any other stores when I went shopping that day, so I guess I'm trying to figure out if I should expand my price range and go shopping again, or just get the sleeves shortened on this one and call it a day:)

When I get things hemmed I'm usually charged about $20. I would assume that my dry cleaners would charge around the same for sleeves. If you have somebody who does alterations out of her house, it might be less than a dry cleaners.

You might want to try the iron-on-tape approach, rather than spending money to have it hemmed.

Ooo my mom gave me some stitch witchery a while back and I a.l.w.a.y.s. forget about it! If I try it and it comes out awful, is that undoable or am I stuck with it?

Maybe you could use some regular tape (duct, masking, painters) first to make sure you like the length?  Then I'd totally stitch-witch them and call it a day!

I'd spend the $20 - blazer sleeves often have lining and or buttons which will be impossible to manage with tape. I've had a lot of sleeves taken up and depending on how difficult the project, it usually runs me between $12-$25
