how does marc jacobs shoes run? i want a pair of shoes and i am normally a size 9, but sandals sometimes 8.5. the shoes i want are round toed heels. they only have size 8.5 and 9.5. should i get the 9.5 and use an insole??
thanks so much for any input as i don't own any marc jacobs shoes (i'm soon going to put that to an end though!!!)

I am a 7.5 with slightly wide feet. Occasionally I take a 7 (usually in sandals) and I also take an 8 in some companies. All the Marc Jacobs shoes I've ever tried on (a lot...I just can't seem to find a way to rationalize buying MJ shoes), I've had to take an 8 to get them to fit right. I think you would be fine with the 9.5 with the insole if you need it.
I am a size 8, but I have also gotten in MJ shoes 8.5 and 7.5. I think they are pretty TTS but the 8.5 the ankle strap was big so I needed to get another hole put in. Haven't worn them yet, but I'm planning to put a foot petal to keep from slipping.
I have about 8 pairs of MJ shoes and I can honestly tell you the sizing is not consistent. But IMO, the Marc Jacobs collection ones definitely run larger. Those red round-toed wedges from two years ago are huge but I kept them because they are so cool and were hard to find. The Marc by MJ seem to run truer to size except for the silver pointy flats which run about a size small. he satin ballerina flats were about a half size small in my case. As far as sandals, I have a few pairs (not to mention have bought/returned a few others), and they all seem to be pretty true to size. Which pair were you considering? Chances are good I've tried them on, ha! HTH.

i remember this topic came up before and we were all literally all over the map, so i definitely second vanessa's opinion that the sizing does not seem to be consistant at all.
my first mj experience: i wanted round toe t-strap heels that were marc by marc jacobs (as opposed to the collection) that i saw in lucky. barneys only had a 7.5, i thought they'd fit but probably be a bit big since i'm usually a 6.5/7...wrong! they were huge! but i didn't want that color (pink) once i saw it in person anyway and tried on the dark turqoise color (same shoe) in a 6 and it was a PERFECT fit. so that led me to think that marc by marc jacobs runs big. btw, they are one of my favorite pairs of shoes but be warned they are uncomfortable, the round toe really didn't turn out to be as comfy as i thought they would be, once i had to dance for hours in them and by the end of the night my feet were literally pulsing w/ pain.
next mj experience: this time high heeled sandals, in them i fit into a 7 and i usually am a 7 (or 6.5), so from that i think that the marc jacobs collection sandals are relatively true to size. i didn't end up getting those sandals though so i don't know how comfy they are.
anyway, sorry for the sagas, hth a little at least!
everytime MJ is discussed it is all over the board with his shoes. i think it really depends on the style. in his flats i have to size up (6.5) but everything else i wear a 6. strangely enough- i am a pretty solid 6 across the board when it comes to shoes except with some pointy toe flats.
i think this color is almost neutral so it would go with almost every color. i'm not a huge leopard print fan, but there is just enough...thoughts?
