I have a few cashmere sweaters that are pilling. How do you remove the pills safely? Should I get a fabric shaver? I've heard that they can easily rip fabric. Any suggestions?
I have a sweater stone from the laundress. I think it was $20 at beauty.com, which is too expensive IMO for what it does, but it works well. They don't appear to sell it any more.
It basically looks like a pumice. Maybe you could find something similar (and cheaper)?

Thanks! I'll look around. I haven't been able to find anything other than the shavers so far in B&Ms. Somebody told me about a fabric comb but didn't know where she got it.

I'd recommend a sweater stone as well. I bought one from Banana last year for $5. It seems more gentle than a shaver.
