I am not sure I understand the question, but what I do (to avoid grabbing all the ads and pics and stuff) is to click on the "printer-friendly page" option (sometimes it just says "print") if they have one and then cut and paste the text from there (usually the "printer friendly" option has less crap on it).
To cut and paste, I just highlight all of the text, hit control + C (on a PC) and then drop it into my post by hitting control + V (macs use the command key - the one with the little apple on it - instead of "control"). Of course, right-clicking and using the cut and paste commands there is good too. I am always sure to include the publications name, etc, as well. I am not sure if that protects one in the case of copyrighting, but it seems like the right thing to do. Copyrighting on the web is such an iffy thing and almost impossible to enforce...
You can always just paste the URL of the article, too.
