Well, the speedy isnt really leather (except the handles) and it's over $600 so you'd have to cross that out.

Alot of people consider the Rebecca Minkoff bags to be classic ... with a code/sale, it'd be around $600. It's also pretty similar to the speedy.

Me personally, I would buy a vintage Chanel bag. I have come across some styles in great condition for about $600. In my opinion, they're classy and timeless.

I second the Rebecca Minkoffs. It doesn't have to be the MAB either. Some of her other styles are classic too. A good opportunity to get a better price is when Shopbop does a promo, or Bloomies.

Some of the Marc by Marc Jacobs styles have a classic feel to them also, if you want new.

Yah I actually really like Rebcca Minkoff bags, I really like the matinee style..hard to find now though :( When does shopbop do promos usually??

You don't have to get LV bags in monogram, many come in the damier print. I have an LV bucket bag that I got from my grandmother in the damier print and one in monogram from my aunt (yes - my family may have a problem!). I ended up giving the monogram to my sister as I didn't like the idea of being covered in logos however I still use the damier from time to time as it doesn't sceam LV (to me, at least) and I like the classic look of the bag. I don't know what the price points look like these days but it might be worth a shot. And while I cringe at paying a lot of money for canvas (!) many LV bags are so classic that I think you'd use it your whole life.
