If you just want the basics for capris, the Limited has tons of different styles colors, including some cute denim ones.  I'm on the short side, almost 5'4" and I have 3 pairs from there and they don't make me look frumpy.   Because of my height, I don't buy the capris with the rolled up cuffs, they *do* make me look frumpy, and even shorter, regardless of what shoes I try on with them.  HTH!

Hi, I'm short too so I totally understand your issues with capri llooking frumpy. I find that capris that have an 18'' inseam look good on me.

i am short too 5'3.5" and i bought these belted linen capris at express yesterday. they are very cute and are a little tighter and fitted (rather than boxier wide leg). also they were a great deal because all crops are 50% off!

I second f21.  Also, try American Eagle and Aeropostale.  I am 5' and those tend to fit me well.

Old Navy also has some that I love the fit of, but I have to take them to a tailor to get them shortened.

I tried on those Gap ones last night.  I loved the color, but they hit me mid-calf and made me look shorter and stumpier (which I didn't think was possible) LOL They were really cute though!
