I don't know if I posted this question before, b/c I have been looking for a while. I am trying to find a tote bag for school, while there are a lot of cute ones that I like, I want it to have a zip closure, so if it rains nothing gets wet. I bought this cute one from DKNY, sorry I couldn't find a picture, but it was a blue satin, green suede and white leather. While it is sooo pretty, I think it was overpriced for a seasonal bag plus it will get dirty REALLY fast. So i am rethinking my decision, and I think i am going to return it. I really want something that zips and will not go out of style very fast. I am not sure what my price range is yet. I guess it depends on the bag. Thanks for the help!!

That DKNY bag sounds beautiful, but not practical for school use.  Have you looked at Longchamp or Herve Chapelier?  Those bags are simple yet stylish and very practical.  I don't have either, but I have heard they hold up very well.

I second the Herve Chaplier bags....had mine for 4 years...looks new. Or LL Bean and Lands End boat totes come with a zipper top, those are super durable.

I second lesportsac.com, I used my tote from there for years and it has held up great and they are nylon so they can easily be wiped clean. Here are a few:
