Where do I start with this skirt? I have another Floreat brand skirt from Anthropologie, so I went with a size 2 again. When I pulled it out of the box I already knew it wasn't going to work.


I'm short waisted and 5 ft 7, and this is where the waistband and hem hit on me.




The waistband is 1" smaller than my ginkgo skirt, and the hem is 2" shorter.


If I sized up it would probably drop the hem and make it wearable, but then there is the zipper. Fail a mondo. A long exposed brass zipper zips up the side.



I don't know why they didn't do the zipper the same way as on the Ginkgo skirt. It looks cheap and out of place, in my opinion.

Awww. That sucks. It does look cute on the site. I'm short waisted too and know what you mean by needing things to hit just right on the waist.

Is the 1st pic in the skirt - you? Then it looks good on you in terms of the length. Same brand doesn't do have to do same length & trims on all their garments. Exposed zippers are very much in lately, so...however then need to be inserted "NEATLY to the dot!" - here on the pic it doesn't look so...well, as my mom says - walk fast, nobody will notice. ( no, she's not joking).
Re: waist: that 1" can be not the size thing, but the other measurement, according to where the designer planned the skirt to sit on/below/above & how much above/below the waist. DOes it fit you or is it too small?

lol Yana, I agree. I think if this was a body con skirt it would be "cool", but since it is more frolicking on the boardwalk it seems out of place.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I might size up and see if I can run past my mirrors and ignore this weird zipper.

I went and tried this on today and I think the fit is just OFF. It was just not flattering on me and didn't lay flat. It was almost like it kind of tapered in at the bottom.

I am not fan.

Thanks for the review. I have the gingko skirt too and it's too bad this skirt doesn't have the same fit.  I think it looks cute on you though, honestly.  I hope it works out if you decide to size up.

It looks exactly like it did on me.  I think it's cute on you, but I know what you mean.  I feel it's too short for the office and I didn't think the quality was good for the price at all.  I felt disappointed too.  Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you either.
