So my closet makeover is bringing up all sorts of clothing questions. I recently got rid of a LOT of clothing, and am trying to further purge my closet.
What are you ladies wearing for loungewear? The stuff you throw on when you aren't in the mood for jeans, but don't quite want to bust out with the Pajamas...
Also, if you could note how you store them you'd make me a very happy lady.
These days I'm lounging around in bra/tank dresses (the VS kind) that I snatch up from MJR and/or cotton rompers. I actually have them hung on a coatrack-hatstand thing, so I can just snatch one up right out of the shower.
Hmm, I only have one pair of "lounge pants," a pair of track pants from Tarzhay that have held up well, and a pair of yoga pants. But nine times out of ten, it's jammies. I put on my pajamas about as soon as I get home from work. I even make dinner in PJs. I have knits and wovens, in fabrics from silk to flannel.
I keep my woven pajamas on hangers (both pieces on one hanger) and knit pajamas folded in a drawer.
I like to wear t-shirt dresses, a size larger than I would wear out, so that they are comfy around the house, and if the door bell rings I am not in my pjs answering it at 6:00 at night. Old Navy and Target are good for cheap, comfy ones. My preference is to put my pjs on, but now that my son is getting to the age that he has friends stopping by, I have to be "dressed".
Mostly around the house, but so I wouldn't necessarily have to change to make a quick trip out. But, certainly not as a planned outfit outside the home. I'd like to be able to go to the mailbox or to pick up something from the corner store.
American Apparel makes really comfy shorts that I wear around the house and sometimes to the gym. Forever 21 makes basics, like white and black t-shirts for dirt cheap that you can wear to death. Also, I promise, if you buy a pair of yoga pants...you will live in them! I just got a pair from Shopbop from So Low, but you can really find them anywhere now (even Target)
Hmmm. a Jersey skirt and tank/tee, maybe? My knitted skirts are super comfy. Might as well be pajamas!
I do love my yoga pants/yoga capris, but honestly I don't go anywhere except the gym (or to bed!) in them. I know a lot of people are fine wearing them out of the house, but I always feel like I'm wearing pajamas to the store.

I'm with Kelly on this one...skirts are a good lounge wear option. You can usually find them made in the same material as yoga pants (jersey/cotton with stretch/etc) but because they are skirts, they are a little bit more appropriate for wearing to the corner store.
Personally, I find that I just don't like the way that my butt looks in yoga pants so I only wear them around the house. Skirts, however, fall different on my backside, so are fine.
And actually, this is what I've been wearing this summer when I get home from work:
They're from the Gap and just simple cargo, linen shorts. I've got them in three colors (gray, navy, and olive) and I adore them. I've worn them with a tank-top to go walk the dog, lounge around the house, and even with a nicer top and sandals to go out for a drink at a local bar.
