sizing help needed

I have been in heart.gif for a long time with this dress on Chadwick's.  I am a size 6 Misses, but all they have close to my size is an 8 petite.  Don't petite sizes usually run smaller than misses.  I looked at the size chart and the sizes are really not any different except for the length.  I want it so badly, but I don't know if I should order.  It is on deep discount plus another 20% off.  Can someone help?

I think if you love it that much and it's on such a great sale, it would be worth ordering just to try it on.

I'd try it and get it altered if you love it on. Sometimes petite runs small and sometimes you are right - same size just shorter. I never know so I always try stuff just to see.

HI!
Usually petite size is mostly shorter & should be a bit smaller in shouders, chest & waist. I suggest you buy 8 petite if you're usually 6 , at most you'll be able to return it. Different patterns also fit in a different way, i always suggest to try a garment on.

A true petite is like 1 1/4" smaller all around, with even shorter sleeves and hem. Some stores say "petite" to sound fancy but really all they've done is shorten the hem (like Gap and Old Navy). I think you'll be able to get away with the petite from Chadwicks, and its an adorable dress!
