ok, ladies, i have several little gowns much like this
This is sleepwear
These are camis
Seriously, I have little slip type nighties that look exactly like the camis except they don't have lace trim, so can I wear them with jeans under a jacket? I just found them while unpacking boxes from moving a year ago, they hit me right past my bootie - much like the camis shown above. Is this such a no no - I swear I can't tell a difference in the quality that some of my camis are anyway. Or will everyone say - that is a VS gown from 3 years ago that girl has on?????

Hmmm...taking into consideration that I am single mom who needs to stre-e-etch her pennies pretty thin, I might go for it. I'm all for recylcling fashions, and if you can find a new use for something...score!
Some suggestions...could you add some detailing onto the slips...some lace at the top or fabric buttons, even some beading? Anything to elevate it from sleepwear to fashionista status? I know there's one place that sells some great trim...anyone know for sure the name? I think its MJ Trim or something like that.
Anyhow, I have often found that things I find at thrift stores can be done over quite well...some antique nightgowns can be hemmed and trimmed into gorgeous tops!
I think you should definitly wear them. I like chemises, slips and babydolls better than alot of camis meant to be clothing because they are longer and sometimes more ornate. Just don't wear anything too long... like midthigh or to the knees.
About a month ago, I bought these from Fredericks specifically to wear with jeans. They are sexy, pretty, and the perfect length (I think they are actually too short on me on their own but look great with jeans).
