This dress will hide under my graduation cap and gown. It will probably be very warm so I want the dress to be really airy and comfy. Since the wedding I am going to this summer is pretty casual (in a church, but at 2 pm and the reception is pretty casual), I defintely want to get a dress that I'll wear again and again during the summer. I tried on a ton of dresses and this is what I really gravitated towards.
1. This rose silk French Connection dress ($158)...so comfy, but is it flattering?
2. A Kerry Cassill dress in the print below (KC dresses are made from cotton). The dress has a v neck and tie shoulders, ruching below the bustline to the waist, and an a-line skirt that hits right below the knee. (Only $98 too...)
For a coverup during the wedding, I tried this gorgoeus ivory Inhabit shurg with the Kerry Cassill dress that had golden/bronzy sparkly threads woven in...so pretty, but too steeply priced for me at $220. The shape was basically a cropped version of this Anthro sweater.
So if anyone has any ideas for a somewhat sprakly capelet/shurg for less than $100, that would be amazing.
I love the dress! It looks great on you and the color's lovely. As far as a shrug/capelet goes (to go with the rose dress) what about this:
It's a nylon/angora blend, on sale at the gap right now for $20. I have it in apricot and it's lightweight enough that you could pull it off during the summer (unless it's really hot), especially at a more formal event like a wedding.
