My boyfriend and I are one of two sets of godparents for my bf's step-brother's new baby. The baptism is this weekend, and I have yet to get a gift! I would like to think that my bf has thought about the matter too, but I think I'm alone on this one.
Anyway, this is my first time being a godparent and I'm not sure of what kind of gift to get. I'm leaning towards starting some kind of savings account for the baby. Does anyone have any pointers on how to do this?
If not the savings account, does anyone have any other good ideas for a baptism gift? I'm a pretty practical gift-giver so I'd like to stick with something they can really use, especially because they are from a small midwestern town and I don't think they'd care for a beautiful silver rattle from Tiffany's or something like that. I should also point out that although this is a baptism, we are not particularly devout in faith and neither are the parents of the baby.
Please help!!
