So I've also made it through my shopping ban - FH has been gone almost 2 weeks and magically I have hundreds of extra dollars in my checking account - hmmmmmmmmm . . . .
Anyway, I have not actively shopped in 4 months. I am finding myself terribly paralyzed and completely unable to make any kind of shopping related decision whatsoever. I spent almost 3 hours wandering around Old Navy last weekend because I could not make up my friggin' mind!
Which direction should I go first, after being deprived for so long? Tops? Jeans? Shoes? Makeup? I need all these things! Help!!!
My fellow former-shopping-ban sistas?

wow 4 months, congrats! you and farrah are hardcore. i tried and couldn't make it past 2 weeks (though i am trying again).
i would start by looking at exactly what you need and making a list. so instead of just saying you need tops, think if you need work tops versus casual tops versus going out tops. that'll probably help you focus a bit. there's lots of cute stuff out there, let me know if you want suggestions.

Yes, please! I find myself falling into the cami/blazer or button-down rut, especially at this time of the year when it's not really cold but definitely not warm. I need some tops that can stand alone in the spring/summer and be worn under blazers in the fall/winter.
I've got the jeans situation covered (going to get another pair this weekend), but I need some spring shoes for work, preferably in a bright/fun color with kitten heel. I was thinking of just heading to Nordstrom Rack to see what I could find, but again I fear I will be paralyzed in the face of choice - some direction would be nice!

I can sympathize with your feelings. When I don't have money I see tons of things I "would" buy, but when I have money I am so picky. I think making a list of things that have appealed to you would be a good place to start. Shoes are definitely a good place to start also. I buy shoes and then build my outfits around them
As far as tops go that can stand alone or be worn under blazers:
anthroanthroanthro
anthroanthroanthro
anthroanthro I could go on and on with tops from anthro
ann taylor (on sale for $39 plus and extra 25% off)
What I did is I started a spreadsheet of things I wanted to buy. When I looked at the list all together, I was able to see some repetition as well as some items that did not work well with the overall look I was going for, or they didn't mesh well enough with the rest of my wardrobe. That can be a start for you. I had columns for tops, camis, cardis/jackets, pants, denim, accessories and shoes. Some were very specific (aka True Religion Joeys) and some were vague (white skirt).
One more thing, the shopbop code for 20% off expires tomorrow so if you want something from there you should take advantage before that's over. HTH!
