question about waitlisting on gilt

I've put myself on a wait list for a dozen or so of their items. Sometimes if the item does not say "sold out" yet, it means someone else has it in their cart and if you keep checking you might get lucky. Once it is sold out I think the odds are low. Once, I did get an email saying one of my waitlist items was back in stock (it was a Lauren Merkin clutch, not that it matters). I swear at least two months had passed. So I don't think it was a return. Their process is a mystery to me!

Side note (related): I'm kind of annoyed because GILT didn't email me until 2 hours after the sale started. I didn't know Kooba was going to be on sale, and I totally missed out. They usually send notices on-time or closer to it. :( Bummed.

Me too! I never get the emails until sometime in the afternoon of the sale. Makes no sense.

I subscribed to their RSS feeder using Firefox bookmarks so that I wouldn't miss out. I've noticed that their emails get delayed by Yahoo.
